The Peotone Fire Department dates back to its formation in 1881. In 1978 the Peotone Fire Protection District was created. Today the department covers an area of approximately 70 square miles serving a population of 7,000. The department has over 50 volunteer and part time personnel. The department has one station, located on the north end of Peotone. The department handles about 800 fire and EMS call per year. |
