M.A.B.A.S. (Mutual Aid Box Alarm System) Division 19 was "born" on October 20, 1994. Currently, there are twelve fire agencies in M.A.B.A.S. 19: Frankfort, Homer Township, Manhattan, Mokena, New Lenox, Orland Park, East Joliet, Elwood, Lockport Township, Palos, Palos Heights, and Peotone Fire District’s. These twelve fire agencies have requested box alarms (mutual aid assistance) for structure fires, brush fires, rescue and emergency medical incidents, hazardous materials incidents, confined space, and disaster incidents. M.A.B.A.S. Division 19 is a progressive organization, built on a foundation of solid working relationships, open communications, and a commitment to share resources to the benefit of the member agencies and public at large.
